Brazoria County administers the election for BCFWSD #1 under contract. Polling places, early voting information, and official results are published by Brazoria County Elections.

Candidate Eligibility – State Law

The following is a brief summary of the basic eligibility to serve as a director on the BCFWSD #1 Board, under Chapter 53, Texas Water Code, and the District’s local resolution.

Statutory Qualifications (Sec. 53.063)

Sec. 53.063.  SUPERVISOR'S QUALIFICATIONS.

(a)  Except as provided by Subsection (b), to be qualified for election as a supervisor:
    (1)  a person must be:
        (A)  a resident of this state;
        (B)  the owner of taxable property in the district; and
        (C)  at least 18 years of age; or
    (2)  a person must be a registered voter of the district.

(b)  To be qualified for election as a supervisor of a district located wholly or partly in Denton County,
     a person must be a registered voter of the district.

Deadline to File Candidate Application: February 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM

Deadline for Write-in Candidates: February 17, 2026 at 5:00 PM

Texas Secretary of State – May 2, 2026 Uniform Election Date (Limited)

*Please note that the first day to apply for ballot by mail does not allow for applications to be submitted earlier than the 60th day before Election Day. The date listed is the first day you may submit your application.
